It ireminds me of the illegal rice paper photocopies of text books from Asia that were around 50 years ago (Amazon books are probably the successor of those in breaking the Publisher's monopolies).It is a bit of a surprise when the co-founder of the Zone System Ansel Adams has such high quality publications, re-edited and re-marketed by others progressively as values change - photography doesn't even with its new modern capture medium.
It is a wonderful thing that the publisher has reproduced it. One can watch CreativeLIVE for a whole week on this subject and not get the basic knowledge and simplicity of instruction presented in this book. It applies to flash photography everybit as much as the studio lighting outlined in the book. The work of mid-20th century artists remains tops for me. Compare to-day's magazines to the portraiture of Horst P Horst if you want to see the glossies. There is nothing glossy in "Fred Archer On Portraiture".

Great book. The lessons here were timeless. Book was in great condition, just as promised by the seller.
Absolutely loved this book, mostly for receiving reassurance on most of my routines and principles when working with my sitters and lighting.
